"Being a carer is a very, very important job .... 'helping out' means caring." When you are a carer, you are still that person's mother, brother, partner, friend - but you are also playing another role in that person's life. It can be "a lonely thing to be someone who has to provide 24 hour care", so realising you are a carer is the first step to getting some support for you in that role. In A Grand Job, John, Sue and Deirdre talk about caring for their son, brother and husband respectively; while Catherine from Action for Carers Oxfordshire describes the range of support available. If, after watching this, you realise you or someone you know is a carer, contact the carer charities local to you for information, support and advice.
