It feels immense to be fit; it feels great to be free and tough. I can hit and kick and punch anything I want. ‘Bam, Bam’ ‘Pow, Pow’… I am the queen and I am the finest! ‘WALLOP’ an enormous force smacks the back of my head as I leap for a flying kick; it catches me off guard and I fall into an illustrious heap on the floor. It is Master with his beaten in old cane. ‘You must drop your ego now before you can ever fight ‘
‘But I can fight, tomorrow I am going to be the best warrior ever’ ‘There is no future child, only now, take it and be with it as it flies by so fast.’ The master chuckled and turned away. As the back of my head throbbed and he hobbled out the door I heard him say, ‘Now is a gift my dear, that is why they call it the present’. Not sure if it was what the master was intending but now, in battle, every time a part of my body throbs I remember what he said.
