The Iowa Energy Center is pleased to welcome Ron Binz for the 2014 spring “Redefining Innovation” Speaker Series at the Iowa Utilities Board office in Des Moines, Iowa.
During his presentation, The New Energy Future: Meaningful Regulation for Iowa, Binz shared his views on the modern challenges the electric power grid faces and how these challenges will drive the utility industry to create a power grid for the future.
“I am especially excited to speak in Iowa because the state is at the forefront of wind energy development, it has progressive utilities, and strong legislative interest,” said Binz. “There is a good case to be made for meaningful utility regulation in Iowa.”
Binz is the third presenter in the Iowa Energy Center’s Speaker Series, an initiative that invites leading professionals to share their expertise in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields.
For the first time ever, the Speaker Series was held at the Iowa Utilities Board office in Des Moines, Iowa. “The upcoming events coincides well with the Board’s intent for use of its facilities and its vision to be a partner with the public and utility industry on electric, natural gas, and telecommunication issues” said Libby Jacobs, Iowa Utilities Board Chair.
