Hawaii’s Departments of Agriculture (DOA) and Land & Natural Resources (DLNR) have released this instructional video for homeowners who are encouraged to test for Little Fire Ant (LFA )in their yards and around their homes. The three-minute long video provides step-by-step, easily understood instructions, on the simple procedure for testing for LFA.
The “How to Test for LFA” video was produced by DLNR in cooperation with DOA and other agencies that are jointly addressing the LFA issue. It features invasive species biologist Domingo Cravalho of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, one of the participating agencies. It is widely available on DOA and DLNR websites, Facebook and YouTube pages. It is also available by request for other organizations that would like to show it or feature it on their web pages or social media.
