Interview with John Baldessari for Dazed Digital
In 2009, Tate Modern presented a retrospective of the 78-year-old American artist commonly referred to as one of the pioneering forefathers of Conceptual Art. Undoubtedly one of the most influential artists of the last 50 years, Baldessari performed the ultimate act in 1970 when he burnt the majority of his work in ‘The Cremation Project’, which marked the end of an era and the beginning of his career. Here, he talks about working in Los Angeles, being reductive and artists' signature style.
