Unexpected, unreal and unbelievably amazing. Just another weekend away with the UNSW Underwater Club. This time we were out at Forster diving The Pinnacles. We were descending down the anchor line and I went right to the bottom to check on the anchor at 36 meters . After seeing that it was ok, I glanced at my computer to check on my depth, air & no deco time. I looked up and there he was, this beautiful creature of a whale. Probably 15-20 meters above me, just laying there, long enough for me to get some semi-decent footage. I kicked as hard as I could to try and get a close-up but he was a tad shy. Before I could get too close, he gave us a little wave as if he was saying goodbye, rolled onto his back and in just two kicks, he was gone, out into the blue, leaving the whole crew with their minds blown to pieces.
