The Wildcat hills are an escarpment south of the North Platte River near Scottsbluff Nebraska. The region is atypical for Nebraska in that the ecology resembles the Laramie Mountains 60 miles to the west. Ponderosa pine dominates the landscape and bighorn sheep, pronghorn, elk, mule deer, wild turkeys, and mountain lions can be seen in the area. The Wildcat Hills are a popular hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing destination, uniquely managed by the Game and Parks and local ranchers and citizens.
