(C06) The neuroscience of Talking Therapies
This module, The neuroscience of Talking Therapies, is presented by Dr. Pieter Rossouw, a psychologist and educator in the field of neuropsychotherapy. In this module Dr. Rossouw looks at the history of 20th Century brain science and our understanding of how the brain works and what are the basic underpinnings of mental life. Dr. Rossouw also describes how talking therapies can facilitate real neural change in the brain of a client by touching on subjects such as mirror neurons and neural plasticity.
This is the sixth module of our 13 core courses and is designed to give you some basic understanding of brain function before going on to more advanced topics. The module is recommended as 1 unit of continuing education or professional development and should take you about an hour to work through.
