The Muslim Womens Coalition facilitated the opening of Azam Public School in 2001. The school now supports 285 children, ranging from 2 to 14 years old. With a staff of 15, the school provides affordable childcare and Urdu-based education, with free coaching classes in English, for an annual tuition of $60 per student. Currently, there is a waiting list of students which the school cannot yet accommodate with their current physical infrastructure.
The school is reaching out for help to replace old desk benches, fix crumbling walls, and install internet and computers for enhancing the children's education.
