“Main Wayang : Hikayat Sang Kancil” is an experimental puppet theater performance based on the popular Malaysian “Sang Kancil” fable. The short stories are dubbed as are performed as a talk show. Three screens revealed three sides of the same story where stories that were once unnoticed now becomes the a new narrative. Audience witnessed puppeteers, visual and sound effects performed live among the set.The Malay word “main” means play; denotes a quirky charm of fluid improvisation central to this experimental performance.
