With almost 500,000 street lamps in use in Minnesota, replacing older less-efficient high-intensity discharge or metal halide technologies with more efficient options, such as LED and induction lamps, represents a real opportunity for reducing costs and energy use. The webinar will go through a 10-step “how-to” manual for the appropriate selection of LED roadway luminaries. It will also review a method to analyze the economics of replacing HID roadway lighting systems with comparable LED technologies, and considerations for design of utility conservation improvement programs.
This webinar is presented by Gary Swanson, president of Energy Management Solutions. This project was supported in part (or in whole) by a grant from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources through the Conservation Applied Research and Development (CARD) program, which is funded by Minnesota ratepayers.
