By giving financially through Elizabeth’s New Life Center, you also save babies throughout the world, especially in Zambia, Africa.
Elizabeth’s new Life Center supports life through international missions as well as other efforts at home. For example, last April at the request of Heartbeat International Elizabeth’s New Life Center hosted pregnancy help center leaders from 12 countries around the world, offering training, resources and lunch at our Dayton center.
Since1998 Elizabeth’s New Life Center also has provided monthly financial support totaling $8,000 annually to a pregnancy help center, Silent Voices, in Zambia, Africa. Executive Director Vivian Koob met Silent Voices Director Barbra Nalvwe Mwansa, at a Heartbeat Conference. “She told me of the conditions that she was dealing with in Africa, and it really broke my heart.”
ENLC has already begun exploring international missions in Russia, and our board quickly approved outreach to Zambia. To date, Silent Voices has saved more than 6,000 babies and reached 10,000 schools with a message promoting sexual integrity.
Mwansa also serves as president of Association for Life of Africa and said ENLC support has been instrumental in helping the Association establish additional crisis pregnancy centers in other countries, including Egypt, Togo, Gambia, Tanzania and South Africa. The Association for Life of Africa now has 30 affiliates and promotes initiatives to address some of the unique problems facing Africa:
1) Early marriage: Girls as young as 12 marry.
2) Poverty: Impoverished females age 15-19 frequently abandon babies to die in bushes and trees.
4) Abortion. Rather than a clinic procedure, chemical abortions are routinely carried out in the bush, often resulting in death for the mother.
“We really want to say thanks for faithful support of Elizabeth’s New Life Center, the board, the staff and everyone who has been sending in support,” Mwansa said. “Because of Elizabeth’s New Life Center, eternity will be different.”
