Ahmed Zahran holds a Bsc. in economics from the American University in Cairo, and a Msc. in political economy of development from the SOAS London. He worked on cutting carbon emissions under the Kyoto Protocol directives in Shell in Tunis and London (2003 -2007). Since two years he is leading the CDM and Renewables division in TriOcean Energy, MENA region's first vertically integrated private energy company.
Clean development mechanisms are a tool of the Kyoto protocol to reduce GHG emissions, enhance technology and wealth transfer and achieve sustainable development. Zahran will talk about this industry’s current status and future prospects in the MENA region, as well as the huge potential in the region to develop renewable energies generation.
