On February 4, 2009, I was honored to be the feature showcase at the longest running Hip Hop Open Mic in NYC: "All That" at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe. This is one-song from my set, titled “Assembly Lines.” The show is all improvised. No previous rehearsals with the band. This clip captures the kinetic force of live Hip Hop and the heightened engagement between MC, musician and audience. It also epitomizes its multi-cultural span: a Jewish American vocalist with a band diverse in ethnicity and gender, performing an identity piece at the epicenter of the Nuyorican arts movement.
