Koh Rong is an island roughly the size of Hong Kong located off the southwest coast of Cambodia. Until 2008, the village of Koh Tui was just about the only thing on the island's "port of entry" beach. That year, the first rustic bungalows were built, and subsequent development has been rapid. Friends of Koh Rong was founded in 2013 by four women who met on the island. The organization serves as the bridge between the village and the island's burgeoning tourist industry.
