Many of us may have been hurt by the church. To play on a childhood rhyme, it's not the steeples but many of the peoples who cause pain in a place we'd thought we'd find healing. We want Jesus, but not his Church.
Yet God continues to call us to be part of his body of believers.
I've found that the church can be a place where our past pains, wounds, and hurts are often uncovered. God sometimes uses the church to encourage healing and growth in ourselves. To give us a chance to recognize past sins and wounds and begin to heal.
I still don't have this figured out, but God continues to draw me closer to him and the church. So I'll see you on Sunday.
