Most known for writing Columbia Pictures hit, "St. Elmo’s Fire," Carl has over 20 years of experience in Hollywood. He has worked under contract for Paramount, Disney, Universal, Orion, Columbia and Fox Studios in addition to writing and producing over one hundred episodes of TNBC's "Saved by Bell" franchise. Carl refers to himself as a reverse pioneer after leaving Hollywood and discovering a new market for film. This journey lead to an appearance on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" and the birth of the Steeltown Entertainment Project, a non-profit he co-founded with the mission of developing a vibrant and sustainable entertainment industry in the Pittsburgh region.
The Steeltown Entertainment Project believes that Pittsburgh has what it takes to be a key player in creating world-class entertainment. The project focuses on strengthening industry connections, educating youth, discovering talent, and pioneering innovative models to incubate and invest in film and television projects.
