I finally got some time to work on an experiment I've been thinking about. My goal was to shoot and star in my own fishing video. So I assembled my gear and loaded the car. It became evident that I was turning fishing into an endurance sport. To pull this adventure off, I had to carry a 30 something pound backpack with along with my tripod, slider and 10wt rod through two miles of sand.
The weather and the fishing wasn't very good that day but it did provide me with some interesting challenges. Working with the available light was tough at times as it was mostly cloudy but would get really bright for a minute. Setting up shots without a stand in made focusing very challenging, I got around this by picking out land marks in the shot and focusing on those and would try to hit those marks when I entered the scene.
Even though it was a bear to lugg all the equipment around it was a fun experiment and I think I'll definitely do it again.
