Documentation of a performance with video deploying 25 of the infamous, now more than 490,000 videos uploaded to YouTube by the mysterious "Webdriver Torso." The piece reflects my interests in dimensionality, sociality in real and virtual spaces, and systems in general, among other things.
For the background video, I arranged selected embeds in a blog post, then screencaptured video of the resulting grid while VJ'ing it.
The piece was originally created and performed live for "222444," a net-based art, performance, and sound event organized by Dean Terry "for diminished states of consciousness, compromised awareness, non-linearity and where-am-I-ness," broadcast via Google Hangouts as part of the Santa Fe International New Media Festival. "222444" subsequently remained viewable at 222-444.net between 2:22AM and 4:44AM in each time zone. More recently, "Transmembrance Pressure" was selected by guest curator Carson Chan for inclusion in Aurora 2015, Dallas.
