In 2012 and 2013, Creative Regions produced a project called The Foundry. It was part of a 3-year initiative funded through the Regional Writing Program of the Queensland Government and Australia Council for the Arts, administered by the Queensland Writers Centre and Jock McQueenie. The program was about trialling projects that offered the "3Cs" - Community, Culture and Commerce through the use of the arts and technology.
In Bundaberg our focus was on developing creative marketing tools for the food producing sector. Creative Regions worked with Bundy Pride, a collaborative project of Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce and Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers, to develop connections with the food sector.
We partnered with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks, Mamminos, Mango Paradise, Forbidden Figs and Steinhardt Family Farms. Shelley Pisani from Creative Regions produced the project with a team including Project Coordinator Angela Nightingale. The result was 5 professionally produced films about 5 food production families in the Bundaberg Region. These films highlight the innovation and breadth of our food production industry in the region.
In July 2013, a degustation dinner was held to publicly screen the films for the first time, utilising local chefs and local produce in the five course dinner.
This film was produced by Dr Judy Pippen and Mike Lean, and filmed by David Quarrell.
