My first foray into the word of Educational Video. This 10 minute piece explains the operation of a Disdrometer, a high tech rain gauge that is at the forefront of meteorological research. It is used in tornado and hurricane research.

Production Notes:
This was my first shoot with my Panny HMC40 and by crikey does she shoot great video when there's lots of light! This project also required animation that I performed using Apple Motion 3. The rooftop shoot was done in the lovely Colorado winter sunshine and the colors look great. I didn't realize how loud the massive roof mounted air conditioner units were until I started to edit the footage. I tried numerous filter and noise reduction techniques but a simple high pass filter helped the most. The audio is still a little noisy compared to the second part of the video that was recorded inside using a studio grade large diaphragm mic.
