Jina Yoo is a research associate at the Health Communication Research Lab at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. She is also a teaching associate professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Her research focuses on how people’s perceptions or emotions have an impact on their decision making process especially in public health contexts. Her recent work also includes elimination health disparities by using effective persuasive messages. She has published several articles in leading journals in the field of health communication. She received her Ph.D degree in communication from Michigan State University. She also holds a second master’s degree in public health (MPH) from Washington University in St. Louis. Mother of 5-year old (Yul), she lives near Pittsburgh with her husband Tae.
