DJI S800 Evo Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flown along a slope beneath a trimline of the Rhone Glacier, 19th June 2014. Attached to the UAV is a Sony NEX-7 camera which is triggered remotely as the UAV is flown along parallel to the slope. The images will be used to create a 3D model of the slope using structure from motion (SfM) photogrammetry. The data will be used as part of a study into landslides above glaciers in the European Alps. You can read more about the project at grandalpinetour.com
