When our good friends at Faust Post production house in Athens approached us to create elegant cg sims of dancers' clothes dissolving into ice cream, we were stoked by the challenge! Faust Post would light & render, and we would devise a way to create elegant cg flows off clothing geometry that was fluttering and whipping around (as a dancer's clothing does!) The challenge was to extert controls on the cg fluid as it reacted to the fluttering clothing so the fluid wouldn't whip off into the stratosphere! And this control has to be applied while still making the fluid appear natural, elegant and organic. A huge challenge. And of course, the timeframe was quite tight for this kind of thing. But! Thanks to the tools & methodologies we've developed here at Fusion over the years, we were able to create some beautiful flows with art-directable tendrils and droplets that worked for the client. Combined with Faust's beautiful lighting/rendering and finishing, we all created a pretty special spot!
