Robin Grille joins Lu Hanessian on the Parenting for a Peaceful World USA Tour at the Museum of Motherhood in New York City to talk about his vision for children, parents and humanity, and how we can get there from here. In fact, Robin shares, there are many signs of humanity moving towards a more peaceful world, even one that honors and protects its children, but many of those signs are not present in American culture. America ranks dead last among all industrialized nations for infant and maternal wellness (American mothers are seven times more likely to die in childbirth than their Irish or Italian counterparts). America has an epidemic of drugging children, which is currently linked to the epidemic of school shootings. And Americans do not get the family leave that other industrialized countries enjoy to bond with their babies for six months to a year after their birth.
Lu and Robin explore the new territory and understanding of child development and parent wellness that underlines the need for a shift in public policies and cultural beliefs that would support emotional intelligence, mental health and a lifetime of wholeness for individuals, families and communities.
