Indian weddings are always such a rich mix of color, tradition, and culture, and this one was no exception. Our friends Madhavi & Alok tied the knot (literally!) over Memorial Day weekend in Austin with one of the greatest weddings that we've attended to date. A cool Texas breeze was blowing that afternoon, providing the perfect backdrop to Alok's baraat as he rode his horse with groomsmen, family, and friends dancing to the beat of the dhol. And even with their views obscured during Madhavi's doli entrance, you could see that the two of them were excited with anticipation.

As the evening continued, you could see exactly why Madhavi & Alok were destined to be together, overcoming the challenges of a four-year, long-distance relationship. (In fact, even their parents were trying to set them up together, after meeting each other on an on-line Indian dating website!) And to celebrate their wedding in Austin, the entire wedding party danced the night away to the pulse of the bhangra music with cowboy hats on their heads.

So, as one of Madhavi's bridesmaids declares, we listen to the words of Flo Rida, and "put our hands up" to celebrate this happy day for Madhavi and Alok, wishing them the very best for years to come.
