On 26 June, after many years in existence, the Ježíš Táhne Na Berlín project, consisting of audiovisual artists and brothers Ondřej and Petr Skala, releases its first official record on the Prague based label, BIGG BOSS.
'JTNB is a group where music genres intertwine the same way worlds around us do. Masculine and feminine, good and bad, this world and the other world, both of which we owe our death to,' says Ondřej, adding immediately: 'Most of us live somewhere between these worlds (although the record is not destined only for them) and most of us are successful in fearing the death. But to avoid it means to rob both sides. That's why you "don't die drunk,"' the title of the record.
Originally begun as Ondřej Skala's solo project, JTNB mixed a range of styles such as breakcore, IDM and ambient. Nowadays, the project has now expanded to include Petr's solo bass guitar and power pop, creating a style that is impossible to depict accurately. Their collaboration and solo works are included on the record together with melodramatic compositions and a remix of the thaumaturgic Die Antwoord.
During live performances, the project also features beat boxing, metal guitar and vocal exhibitionism. JTNB, has mounted tours in Mexico, Indonesia, the Philippines and across Europe, something uncommon in the Czech cultural environment.
