I wanted to cycle the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) and the C&O Canal N.P. from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC, so I first rode my bicycle from Albuquerque, NM to Pittsburgh to begin the famous "ride of my life" as this route is called. It did not disappoint. Near the end of the GAP between Frostburg and Cumberland, MD the rail trail takes up one side of a former double track railroad. The track adjacent to the bike trail is used by the Western Maryland scenic railroad that runs a steam powered train uphill from Cumberland to Frostburg daily. I waited at Brush Tunnel for the train to come through. A small sign at the tunnel entrance said don't go in the tunnel when the train is present. This video is the reason why.
