A young artist struggles to find creativity for new material. Her search takes her out of the studio and into the “real world” where she finds inspiration for original work.
Shot on Sony FX1 with Brevis 35mm adapter and Nikon glass (35mm + 100mm).
Another "one-man movie", run n' gun style, shot over a weekend in central Alberta.
Here's a story from the last day of shooting. Doing the "art show" scene, I wanted to hang a couple of paintings beside Jessica sitting in the windowsill, but the tape I brought didn't stick due to the cold weather and rough cement. With extras freezing and time running out, I sent my wonderful brother Jonny, out for some string. We tied Gatorade bottles full of snow to one end of a forty-foot string and threw them over the concrete wall, aligned them where I wanted them, and tied the paintings to the other end.
During this fiasco is when the photographer for the local paper decided to start shooting. Bad press.
