A line in the sand is a point of decision. It is often a point of division. It is a point of taking sides. Either you’re in or you’re out. Either you’re with us or against us. Either you’re a friend or you’re a foe.
Chapters 5-11 of the book of John are the line in the sand. Sides are being chosen. Loyalties are being demonstrated. Friends and foes are being revealed.
Line in the Sand is a mini-series within the much broader teaching series of John's Gospel. Through this verse-by-verse series, we're studying the first-hand look at the life of Jesus as presented to us by the Apostle John. The purpose of John's writing is stated in John 20:31, "But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name!"
Jesus declares Himself to be the Son of God. Through this sermon Michael Boehm teaches on the significance of this claim. (John 5:19-30)
