We thought it might just be possible to haul a 50lb Boris bike a daunting 190km around stage 1 of the 2014 Tour de France in Yorkshire, over hill and dale, and get it back to London in 24 hours - with every donation to justgiving.com/BORISvLeTour in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support adding fire to our bellies.
It turns out that endless 17% gradients combined with an actual 204km of riding (not the advertised 190km) while on a 50lb bike with three gears and a basket is rather tough - but not impossible.
Could we make it back to London in time though?
Thanks for checking out the film. Like it? Every text of "HARD65 £3" to 70070 donates £3 to Macmillan Cancer Support and massively makes this worthwhile. To donate more or less just change the number. Or visit justgiving.com/BORISvLeTour
Thank you from the team - Andy Sloan, Dave Barker, Lewis Baguley, Pog Pattison and Dave Parkes.
And a special THANK YOU to Brian Becker for his time and patience editing the film from our amateur footage, to Alan Walker for being incredibly generous letting five guys he'd never met abscond with his van and to Mark Ansell and Louise Martin from BBC Radio.
