Interment comments on the life and/or death of statues and the way they are treated from humans. The performance questions the cultural identity of Greece from 1821 up today concerning the way Greeks treat their cultural heritage in contemporary society. The audience is encouraged to use their mobile phones taking photos with flash and videos as much as possible during the performance.
The Death Series is an on-going project by the Greek choreographer/performance artist Apostolia Papadamaki.
What lies in the core of this site-specific performances is the metamorphosis of the body into a scenic space.This kind of metamorphosis aims at re-appropriating the social context wherein all action takes place.
