Nick Ford has carved stone his entire life. His carving journey began with large blocks of Oamaru stone, and over time, his journey slowly led him to us, a company of passionate jade carvers. He has been carving with us for a few years now and throughout that time has acquired a wealth of knowledge on the designs he carves and the meanings behind them. He freely shares this knowledge with the people he encounters, so we asked him to explain what one of our most favoured designs means to him. His understanding of the koru design is shared by many carvers and customers alike, but keep in mind that for alot of people, they find special meaning in a uniquely personal way.
