Randy Lanou’s high end green remodel of a hundred year old house in a historic area of Durham. It is a complete re-build down to the studs and including a new foundation and removal of a remuddled addition. All the brick for the new foundation was reclaimed from the deconstruction as well as the oak floors, siding some windows and interior doors. The home has spray foam insulation in the walls and roof with a sealed crawlspace and high performance replacement windows and exterior doors with reclaimed wood frames and trim. The kitchen has green certified cabinetry and concrete countertops with river gravel embedded and ground smooth. The house has a manifold plumbing system and Water Sense fixtures. It is projected at HERS 78 and NAHB GBI silver.
