For over a decade Adam Shamash has travelled the world in search of powerful stories to tell on film. From the awesome rain forests of coastal Canada to the deserts of Saharan Africa; from the ancient villages of Hadramawt, Yemen, to the rustic jungles of South America- filmmaking has brought Adam East and West, producing short films, documentaries and commercials for numerous clients and organizations, including the Government of Canada and the Royal Hashemite Family of Jordan. In 2014 Adam co-founded and became Creative Director of the London-based company Film Pill, which produces film, video and commercial content for clients such as the BBC, The New York Times, The Guardian, TEDx and Virgin.
Adam’s films have won several awards, including Best Film, Best Director and Audience Award. He holds a Master’s Degree in Filmmaking from Goldsmith’s / University of London (UK) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Filmmaking from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema (Canada). Adam operates the blog Futuwwa Films, which explores cinema, mythology, and warrior culture.
In his spare time Adam enjoys outdoor adventures, martial arts, and Sufi meditation.
