Adrianne Wortzel's work explores historical and cultural perspectives utilizing physical and virtual networked environments for interactive robotic and telerobotic installations, performance productions, videos and texts. She is a recent resident and collaborator at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, University of Zurich and at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center.
Projects have been made possible by the National Science Foundation, New York State Council on the Arts, Greenwall Foundation, Franklin Furnace Fund for Performance Art, among others.
Wortzel is a Professor of Entertainment Technology and Emerging Media Technologies at New York City College of Technology, on the doctoral faculty of the Interactive Technology and Pedagogy Certificate Program of the Graduate Center, and an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. She is the Founding Director of StudioBlue, an arena for creating telerobotic performance productions originated at Cooper Union and currently at New York City College of Technology.
