German Leon spent his early career in Bogotá, Colombia. His roles included Design lead for a startup software company and design lead in charge of delivering a biometric solution for Colombia’s largest financial institution. He also has experience as a producer and user experience designer. He possesses a masters in interaction design from Umeå Institute of Design, and another masters in strategic marketing from CESA university Colombia. Since joining the User Experience team in February 2007, German has worked at Vodafone’s concept development. His job has been to lead the design and prototype of future visions that contribute to Vodafone’s strategy of becoming a total communications company.

Umeå Institute of Design, located in the city of Umeå in Northern Sweden, hosts summits twice a year—in the Spring and in the Fall—and invites leading thinkers and doers in the interaction design field.
