His research centers on the digital datasets produced by mobile communication devices and other networked devices that can gather and/or transmit data, and how this can be used to understand the social and physical fabric of urban environments. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Computer and System Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy.
