In a vacant surreal landscape (filmed partially in the ghost town of Centralia, PA) a young mother struggles to raise her infant child while living in the hollowed body of a 1950's era school bus. Her days are largely spent scavenging through piles of garbage for tools or food, and clubbing snakes for sustenance. The seasons change making it more difficult for her to locate food. As the woman begins to starve, she becomes unable to produce milk to feed her son. In a downward spiral of desperation and ultimate hunger, the woman begins to cut small portions of flesh from her body to save the life of her son.
