for any filmmaker wanting to know equipment, specs, and workflow for this shoot, here they are.
-bogen manfrotto 515mvb
-sennheiser shotgun me66
-3x 16gb cards
-bogen mono pod
that. is. it.
i love this set up, just because it's so light.
i shot the video with the canon ef 50mm 1.4 lens. every shot is used with that lens. production was done in one hour upstairs in a coffee shop. i saw the script a couple of hours before filming... no artifical lighting was incorporated. i brought lights, but we didn't have time to set them up. i only filled up half of a 16 gb card. i brought 3. i recorded the audio at 96khz, 24bit. the audio was recorded between -12db and -18. the shotgun was 42inches away pointed directly at his mouth with no cover on it.
post work flow:
i coverted the native h.264 footage, to proress422 using apple compressor. i'd say about half of the color grading was done through cs4 by importing the footage as smart object, and the other half was done through fcp.
i think that does it.
thank you everyone for the comments.
