On day 4 both SciGirls I and SciGirls II went to visit Full Earth Farm which is a locally run organic farm located in Quincy, FL. The girls had a great time learning about renewable forms of agriculture including the benefits of composting over using chemical fertilizers, and the impact of commercial farming on our environment. They had the opportunity to measure the internal temperature of compost piles and to conduct water testing at the farm's natural creek. It was a hot and sweaty day but eating fresh organic watermelon post-water-testing made it all worth while. Thank you Full Earth Farm for hosting the SciGirls this year!
