Interactive whiteboards have swept through schools displacing the old chalk or dry marker boards. While we are all discovering how to evolve beyond a board that passively holds written information, the interactive whiteboard has proved to be a game changer for Special Needs students. Whiteboards are large. They respond to touch. The objects on the board can't be knocked off the edge. They talk back. These properties and more creates an experience that closely matches how special children need to interact with information. Because of that alignment, custom interaction paired with custom learning, the consequence to the student is astounding. In short, it's independence.
