Dissolving a speeding car into water – quite a challenge the Celluloid VFX crew was facing for this perfume commercial directed by Matthias Zentner.
Loads of RealFlow particles and Krakatoa magic, combined with a seemless exchange of cameras, geometry and animated „liquify“ masks between 3ds Max and Nuke were the tools of choice to achieve a quite unique organic feel to this TVC.
Although we were used to heavy simulations, everyone was quite surprised that in the end we had been creating over nine terabytes of data for such a short commercial.
Our work was later honored by NextLimit by choosing the spot not only for their RealFlow demo reel, but also a still from it for a full-page ad in the renowned VFX magazine Cinefex.
