B.A.S.I.C.S. (Being Aware Safe In Crazy Situations):
A program service of the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation designed to promote safety and awareness through world-class fundamentals coaching of action sports athletes.
“The action sports world involves a freedom from rules and regulations which we love because it keeps creativity and progression limitless. But, that freedom allows for oversight of teaching and mastering B.A.S.I.C.S., a risky combination. High Fives is dedicated to catching athletes before they crash and providing a platform for further, safer progression.”
– JT Holmes (B.A.S.I.C.S. Program Director)
Of the various action sports in focus within B.A.S.I.C.S., Camp One highlighted safety and air awareness in freestyle skiing with a water ramp training session at the Utah Olympic Park Water Ramps (Park City, Utah).
The High Fives Non-Profit Foundation recognizes that the best action sports are constantly evolving and it is with this freedom that these sports face a recurring oversight of teaching the B.A.S.I.C.S. to those respective athletes that participate in them.
Four selected athletes received training from world-class coaches Timy Dutton, JT Holmes, Julian Carr and Max Kuszaj and Rob Greener
Athletes: Logan and Cody LaPlante with Taylor Pratt and Martin Lentz
