This documentary short from the Emmy® Nominated series IN THE POCKET: ESSENTIAL SONGS OF PHILADELPHIA shows David Uosikkinen of The Hooters' as he records the sixth song in his singles series. Disco Inferno, an inspired cover originally recorded by The Trammps in 1976. Uosikkinen's ambitious and always musically tasty In the Pocket project, brings together all-star Philly musicians to cover classic Philadelphia tunes. For more information on IN THE POCKET: ESSENTIAL SONGS OF PHILADELPHIA go to songsinthepocket.org.

Disco Inferno includes screaming work by the original guitar player from The Trammps, TJ Tindall, a mid-tune rap attack by Schoolly D and lead vocals by Graham Alexander, who is just off the Broadway production of The Beatles' Rain. The track also features performances from Matt Cappy on trumpet, Jay Davidson on sax, Greg Davis on guitar, Rob Hyman on keyboards, Richie & Charlie Ingui on background vocals, Fran Smith, Jr on bass, and of course, David Uosikkinen on drums pulls it all together.

"Disco never sounded like this," explains drummer Uosikkinen. "TJ Tindall told me, Disco Inferno would kill as a rock song. He should know since he played on both versions. And with Grammy winning producer/engineer, Phil Nicolo driving the sound, this one really rocks!"
