Nick Yelloly comes from the same part of England as Nigel Mansell - and the similarities don't end there. His tough, no-nonsense approach is already reaping rewards at international level against major competition. He finished second in the final round of the World Series by Renault 3.5 at Barcelona last year (only a couple of months after his debut at Silverstone) and last week he won the opening round of the 2012 WSR at Motorland, Aragon, Spain. He talks to us about that momentous day - and about the next race on his calendar: Monaco

Inside Nick's track bag:

2 race suits
2 red Alpinestars gloves
3 sets of Alpinestars nomex understuff
2 pairs of Alpinestars race boots
1 Arai GP6 carbon helmet painted by JLF designs.

I always take a big kit bag to put all my race kit in and then one bag to take all my team clothing and normal clothes for the rest of the week. This usually consists of team clothing or sponsor wear for the day time at the race track then something casual and comfortable for the evenings when it's time to chill out!

I take a piece of hand luggage which has my Oakley sunglasses and Beats by Dr Dre earphones. Also my MacBook air to use when we have wifi at the hotel etc and of course the all-important iPhone to keep in contact with everyone at home and to update my Facebook and twitter pages!

I also have my TAG watch that I got for my 20th birthday from my Dad, my Links of London bracelet from my Mum and my ring from my little sis that I always wear at all times expcet when in the gym or driving the car!
