As a follow up to the success of the series of winter themed animations we developed for Nike's winter campaign effort in 2006, we were once again invited to create a piece for their in-store holiday promotion.
We collaborated with Nike's creative team as they shared with us a few duotone icons to be used at their retail locations. That was enough to spark a series of ideas, which later evolved into this animation. The goal of this piece was to showcase the features of Nike Plus, a product developed by a Nike & Apple collaboration.
The piece evolves from a very minimalist introduction into a rich urban world as the runner's experience progresses. At the beginning of our creative process we had the opportunity to utilize Nike Lab's motion capture studio to record the runner's data, which was later applied to the different scenes.
We additionally had the chance to contribute the music track, which was created by our very own Darrin Wiener, Nervo's Music Director.
