In this unit on war, conflict, and peace the students are learning with a hands on approach in addition to book learning. They paint rocks symbolizing what peace means to them and present them at a peace ceremony. They also get to meet and hear from veterans of the 100th Battalion. They made a thousand origami cranes which the teacher took to the Hiroshima memorial in Japan.
