After moving to Sydney in 2012, I embarked on a journey to build a new creative network. Putting my services as a producer, writer, director and first assistant director out there, I was lucky enough to become involved in this neat little zom-rom-com written and directed by Tim McPherson and produced by Ariadne Zanella.
The team were a talented bunch; what impressed me most was the calibre of work that was achieved on a relatively small production budget. Tim had a very clear and precise plan for the film, which is always helpful for a director, but it meant that my job as first assistant director was made immeasurably simpler, because we weren't wasting time on content that didn't precisely fit his vision. Every shot had been quite meticulously planned, and all worked to create the off-beat adventure you see above.
Don't know if I ever got credited for balloon wrangling, but when you see the shot, you'll know that it's the work of a master.
