CMT wanted to a fresh approach for their rebrand and challenged us to find new ways of using imagery that had become all too familiar.
As Country music was hitting the mainstream, our vision for CMT shifted focus towards capturing its authentic Americana roots. We took a heartland road trip with a 16mm camera and combined the moody footage with our hand- crafted textures, animation and live-recorded original music. We were thrilled when CMT later reported back to us that our three years of work had indelibly shifted the pervasive aesthetic of the Country music industry.
